Run bootldr from RAM

Hi, I'm new to the group and want to thank you all for the work you've
done with the handheld distributions.

I want to run bootldr from RAM in order to test my mods. I found the
following procedure attributed to David A. Panariti
(Aug 2001 list archive
http://handhelds.org/hypermail/bootldr/0108/0251.html) for use with the
Win CE boot loader:

> boot> load ram 0xc0022000 1
> boot> call .

I have tried this with the PXA 2.21.12 bootldr on an H5555 with no
success; the iPAQ just hangs after displaying the ymodem download prompt
without transfering any bytes at all. I think the bootldr is otherwise
fine since I have been able to use ymodem to load (and successfully
boot) the familiar kernel several times with various partition tables.

Is there a more recent procedure for putting the bootldr in RAM? The
work I need to do is basically just "shell" stuff so I suspect that
running from RAM will be an ideal approach.
