Getting into development

Hi:

Just wondering if anyone has documenation on using Familiar and OpenEmbedded. I want to start working on porting Familiar to my IPAQ hx2495 but am a little confused on how OpenEmbedded works here.

I have downloaded the following files:
           openembedded-repository-cvs-20050622.tar.gz
      familiar-0.8.3-OE-tree.tar.bz2

>From what I understand, the familiar-0.8.3-OE-tree.tar.bz2 contains the *.bb files for all the packages which is basically the metadata which decribes how to build each package.

What is the openembedded-repository-cvs-20050622.tar.gz file for? Where is the source code that I can modify to make changes to get Familiar to work on my IPaq? And when I am ready to build how do I build a complete Familiar image? (what bitbake package do I make).
