I have recently installed familiar 8.4 with GPE onto an HP3670. I used a CF card with a sleeve, and everything seems to have gone well. I was able to wirelessly connect with an Orinoco/Prism based wireless card ans have updated several packages, but seem to be having some problems.
I have a Targus Stowaway folding keyboard, and think I have installed the correct modules, but cannot get the machine to recognize the keyboard. I am a relative newcomer to Linux and can use any help available as I am v eryy limited
without a keyboard.
I am also unable "to establish a meaningful relationship" between my Knoppix based laptop and the Ipaq. . .but I have sent off for a serial cable since that seems the way to go. . .and reading the manual on Minicom.
I have one more question. I have a 1 gig CF card. How should I format this card, and what would be a sensable allocation of its various directories: ie: ?home, /var/, /bin etc.?
Cheers,
Bob Perron
