That certains sounds like a theme issue, but i think there are some
things, (i.e. widget border sizes) which are not themable which should be.

ok true, i was thinking about menus too, and the way the Wince
menus are vertically scrollable to fit the screen, again not something
you could fix with themes, but certainly not a huge patch to GTK.

it might be beneficial to gather a set of patches that we want to maintain
and try to get a branch from the GTK 1.2 CVS.
