The only "supported" PDA at the moment is the iPAQ. Not that long ago,
someone mentioned the "openzaurus" project, which aims to replace the
Zaurus' standard ROM with a selection of others. You *could* try to
install a ROM from them and then install X11 and GPE yourself, but you
might have difficulties...

Yes, it does look amazing :-D
To give it it's due, OPIE (I don't know the URL, check
http://handhelds.org) looks pretty snazzy too. OPIE is descended from
the same software as is already on the Zaurus, GPE is totally seperate.
GPE isn't yet available for the Zaurus AFAIK, but hopefully will be
soon! (It seems to be an FAQ of late!)
Note that GPE may not support everything you want/need in a PDA (eg.
syncing with a PC). Also, I don't know if there are any conversion tools
to go from Qtopia (what's on the Zaurus by default) and GPE...
A quick search on google shows:
http://openzaurus.sourceforge.net/
as the place to look.
You may even suit your eyecandy desires by installing a ROM using OPIE
from the openzaurus page[0]; though of course don't forget to back
EVERYTHING up ;)

[0] Yeah yeah I know suggesting someone use a 'competitor'[1] is
sacreligious ;-)
[1] Yeah yeah I know we're not 'competing' ;)
