Phil, there's already custom code running for a first-time installation. What
would you think of having that code check to see if familiar postinst has been
run, and if not, running it? This would help make that whole process much
more transparent to the end user who really shouldn't need to deal with such
things...???

Additionally, for users of the bootgpe image, /etc/linuxrc could be modified
so that the first time the system reboots after installation, it runs familiar
postinst.
