Abolutely!
We should with all force try to get rid of those M$ fonts!
I have auto-hinted those free TTF fonts (with kind permission of the
artist of course) and could upload OpenType format fonts of the too.

Colin has done some impressing tests with especially the Caliban font.
It look quite good! Good enough for most most of us I would suppose!
