L.S.
Sometime in the next couple of weeks, I'm going to start removing some
of the older and more obsolete widgets from the Familiar build of GTK.
Those in jeopardy initially are:
GtkText
GtkTree
GtkTreeItem
GtkOldEditable
The first three of these widgets are "considered actively harmful to
use", and are only available under GTK_ENABLE_BROKEN. (See
http://developer.gnome.org/dotplan/porting/ar01s09.html#gtk-deprecation
for some words about this.) GtkOldEditable is only really used by
GtkText and can probably be removed at the same time.
So, now would be a good time to start making sure that your favourite
applications build cleanly without needing -DGTK_ENABLE_BROKEN in their
CFLAGS.
