Gpe project status

Hello, i'm an italian boy. Actuaaly i'm using my ipaq 3870 with opie but
just now i'm installing gpe on it. I want to know the status of the gpe
project and if there is a way to let me to contribute to the project.

I'm a programmer (c, c++, perl and some python) and i know quite well
linux. I haven't experience with gtk (only some tests with gtk1.2) but
i want to take a look to gtk2. What is the status of the port of the
gpe to gtk2 ?
