GPE2 should certainly work on a 3100 in theory. However, I hear there
is some problem with the 2.4.19 kernels included in the bootgpe2 images
which stops them from running on these machines, so it may be difficult
to install.
16MB RAM is certainly going to be tight, but I think most applications
will work.
Neither gnumeric nor abiword is currently part of GPE, though Damien is
working on a gpe-word application and seems to have plans to start a
spreadsheet as well.
