Thoughts on GPE sync/import

Started thinking on GPE syncing and import of data, and came up with
this beautifull diagram:

which seems (at least at first glance and as an initial idea) like a
good soultuion, as an import util and sync plugin/app would both need a
mechanism for sending data over network, either using the cradle or
network device.

Both a multisync plugin and the import util should share common import
library for the different datatypes, e.g. vCard/iCal/CSV files etc.

As for import of data, my psPIM already has a lot of code for import of
different data:
- vcard and vcal using libversit (should use libical for clendar and
todo stuff)
- the Palm AdressDB.pdb file
- a CSV parser, which is used to import of palm desktop address,
calendar and note CSV (IIRC, haven't touched the code in a while, and
source comment says so, but I think it could be jpilot), jpilot todo CSV
and NOKIA phone backup CSV

which I assume could be easily adopted to GPE, if there is a simple API
for accessing data.
