Generally, GPE currently uses Dillo.

Dillo's size is currently 230K bytes (uncompressed). So it is really
down in the noise, and is included on systems with 16 meg of flash
out of the box.

It is (more than) conceivable to put a Gecko (mozilla) based browser on
a device with 32 meg of flash (things are too tight right now for Gecko
on 16 meg of flash). It has run on the iPAQ in the past, and there is
some work likely going on now in the community to do this, I gather.
(And it probably runs this instant on Intimate).

Gecko based browsers will likely have about a 4 megabyte flash footprint
(before compression; which will reduce the image size to consume maybe
a bit over 2 meg of flash, courtesy of JFFS2's compression).
On 32 meg flash devices, this is not an issue.

How much RAM gecko based browsers will use (particularly on larger screens)
is another question, though my gut feel is this is managable, particularly
on 64 meg devices like yours.

One could also get konqueror running without much effort, but as it is
dependent on the Qt library (which GPE does not use), its actual footprint
will end up being as least large as a Gecko based browser, by the back
of the envelope calculation.

> Can your system work with 800x600 display sizes?

Yes, though some of the applications should likely be reworked to use libglade
so that different/better user interfaces can be presented on larger screens.
Some applications are currently optimized toward very small screens (320x240),
and could greatly benefit. As we now have display migration running
(teleportation), this need is becoming acute in any case.

Dunno. Should be easy to get familiar/GPE running on your device, from
what I see of your specs. Welcome to the community.
