I see no reason to display a mouse pointer on a device controlled
by touch-screen and stylus. It's annoying and gets in the way. No
other GUI for touch-screen based devices displays it (Opie,WinCE..).
Matchbox and xkbd manage to hide it, but other GPE apps do not.
I think it would be nice if GPE had a configuration directive to
enable/disable display of the mouse pointer globally. We should
not remove it completely, because without the pointer it's
impossible to use x2x to control the ipaq.
I am thinking of adding a new configuration directive to the X
server. When enabled, the pointer would never be displayed.
Unfortunately I have no experience with XFree source code. I hope
someone more capable will be interested enough to implement it.
Thanks.
