Hello All,
It was suggested in the initial email to the list that I introduce
myself. My involvement with computers goes back to the Commodore CBM
where I did some basic. ( I also have done some work with PDP11's and
paper tape) But since then I've then I've played with stuff from
assembly to Python and Perl. But unfortunately, due to too many other
interests, never long enough to really use them. So my involvement on
this list will probably be one of a lurker, and the occasional question,
suggestion, and opinion.
I've recently put familiar back on the ipaq for the third time, fed up
with m$'s unwilling to operate with anything but m$. I intend to keep it
on and grow along with it.
I've looked through the homepage and archives for GPE and overall like
the direction you are going. I've also have played with some of the
apps and they're looking good.
Here's my one opinion for the moment. Don't cut short python's
abilities. I believe one of it's intents is as a rapid development
tool that can then upgrade modules to C as needed. Plus, I can then
look at the code and have a better chance at figuring it out.:)
Thanks for the work so far,
digger
