I've been toying with a concept for a contacts manager for a while now,
but I lack the time to implement it.

mostly, my concept was about solving two problems:
a) everyone needs different fields in his/her addressbook.
b) you need a good (customizable) display for contacts

essentially, the solution is to encode both the display and the data
structure in an xml. storm already does this for a) (i.e. the data
structure), I'd add it for b) by using GTK hbox and vbox commands,
which you can use to arrange for virtually any layout.

but, as I said, I lack the time.
