Yes, I've been thinking of something along these lines too. I think
gpe-calendar needs to have its world-view expanded a bit so it can
differentiate between "appointments" (ie things that have a finite
duration and probably need to not clash with one another) and
"reminders" (just a note set for a particular point in time). The
latter should certainly have the ability to link in to the to-do list.

FWIW, the place to file feature requests is in Bugzilla, see the "Bugs"
link at the top of http://gpe.handhelds.org. That way it's less likely
that they will just get forgotten.
