This all looks pretty cool. I wasn't able to get all of it to compile
on my desktop, but I had a poke around at the code anyway.
You might want to consider linking the GUI apps with libgpewidget so
that they behave consistently with everything else vis-a-vis things like
tooltips, even if you don't plan on using any of the other facilities in
that library.
Also, from the point of view of code size, it would be nice if we could
discontinue use of Glade-generated interface.c files. These things seem
to get very large very quickly. My personal preference tends to be to
write the interface directly in C, but using libglade to read the XML
description might be something that's worth considering.
