I really like xstroke (once you've got the gestures hardwired into your
mind ;-), but I'm constantly running into problems when using it with
certain Gtk applications.
One example: dillo. For opening a new URL, dillo (running under
matchbox) opens a new, small window with an text field. When I try to
fill in that text field using xstroke, every stroke has to start in the
text field. If not, the text field will loose the focus, or even the
popup window will loose the focus. Since the text field is small, it's
nearly impossible to use with xstroke.
A counter example: gpe-calendar: Although e.g. the form for entering a
new date has many different fields, I have no problems with unexpected
focus switches due to xstroke.
Are there some other provisions in applications like gpe-calendar that
make them behave better with xstroke ? Is there something one can do
(like patching Gtk) to make other applications like dillo behave better?
Is it a problem of Gtk or something else ?
Thanks,
Gregor
