There were a lot of reasons for and against doing this. This has been debated
on this list with a majority in favour of the move (although a lot of people
have not voiced any opinions). I see no need in reviving the old flame-wars
over this. Further IMHO it is still the choice of the main developers and
projects admins to choose where they are hosted. GPE has been hosted for years
on handhelds, for which the project is grateful, but this does not make it
handhelds.org property.

AFAIK Florian has tried to be reasonable and I do not remember any demands
made. And personal attacks don't help anybody.

He did not state that, however he has expressed some reservations about how
you have been handling this situation. And honestly after such a reply I can
understand some of the points he brought up.

I rather saw attacks on linuxtogo than on handhelds. However the main argument
for the move to linuxtogo was increased organisational flexibility, and I
have seen no debating from handhelds, org on that side. The reaction on the
move (as Florian stated, without attacking you in person IMO) and this reply
however seem to indicate that moving was a good decision.
I am so disappointed this whole moving thing has not been handled in a more
adult way. Anyway I believe that the main development will now happen on
gpe.linuxtogo.org and as I want to keep GPE moving that means I will using the
SVN there from now on. This does not mean either I will turn my back on
handhelds.org as I really care less about the ego of people, than trying to
get Gnu/Linux moving forward on embedded platforms.
Regards,
Philippe
