Bug-Summary

Hello dear maintainers,

I am using GPE now for a while and tested it well. But I found some things,
which do not work as expected. As these might be no real bugs, and I not
always could find out, which application is responsible for it, I did not
send them to bugzilla.

I will send them here by now, as I think, some questions (or Bugs?) mighjt be
solved on this way.

Okay, lets begin:

General:

System: SL-C1000, Openzaurus 3.5.4.1 (akita) ,
ROM: The one from EWI, NOT the Hentges-ROM
GPE ist installed on SD-Card, booting through altboot.

Bug 1 (see report in bugzilla):

GPE-appmgr cannot be installed into the taskbar. This behaviour is only in
this case, when password is required to login same as user or root). When
configuration is the way, that password is not requiered at login (aka "login
without password"), everything works fine. Is there a rights-problem ?

Bug 2: gpe-look-and feel.

When coulour of the fonts has been changed, it is not possible to save the
configurations. Coluor stays as it was before. This is working as user as
well as root.

Bug 3: Ethernet configurations

I could not find a way, to set up a connection using my cell phone as modem,
Maybe this is may fault. What I need is a way, to set up dial-up procedure. At
ethernet configuration there was only a field, where to setup the modem
initila strings and every else I need to access to the provider (just similar
to the way in OPIE)

Bug 4: Ethernet configuration

Pressing the Button "USB-Settings" , you can change the behaviour of the
USB-port. These changings neither be stored, nor altered. This behaviour is
the same as user or root.

Bug 4: USB

The Sharp Zaurus is not been seen on my desktop-system. When connected to the
USB-port with my desktop-pc, a "lsusb" on my desktop does not the Zaurus.
Well, this might be no bug of GPE, but maybe it is. I just wanted to remark
it....

Bug 5: Keyboard "keys improvement"

As this is not a real bug, this is more a wish. the keys "shift", "Fn" , "Ctl"
and "Tab" , as well as the Hotkeys "Calender", "Address" "Mail" "Home"
and "Menu" do activate the SL-C1000. This is implemented in the BIOS.

I found out, that by wearing the SL-C100 in the pocket, sometimes the Z is
beeing reactivated through these keys. This is because sometimes the cover
touches the keys (especially when you use a foil on the screen). Maybe it is
possible to deactivate those keys, when the cover is closed ? Just an
idea....

So, again: I cannot confirm, if these are all real bugs. These are all the
things I discovered, when using GPE. Maybe some things are misconfiguration
by myself. In this case, it would be nice, if you could give some feedback to
me,

Anyway, thank you very much for your help !

Feel free to contact me for further information.

Best regards and thanks for all the work !
