Indeed. USB is fast enough if it works for you, or, better, use proper
networking via PCMCIA/CF.

I really don't think I suggested there shouldn't be a single place for
configuration. I said it might be better for that place to be a
gpe-appmgr tab rather than something else which would make configuration
non-uniform with other aspects of the system. (See the paragraph below
that one, which you didn't reply to.)
