Here is a starter list for you:
On installing: An oddity I have noticed with all gpe- packages, The post inst script doesnt like a session of gpe-appmgr running when the postinst scripts run. It would be nice if you could
check for running sessions, kill them do the postinst then restart the session. Maybe warn of the appmgr shutdown in the ipkg with an echo statement or message box....
Postinst
This fact cause the post inst to "hiccup" on the install. So I had to manually shut gpe and go run the postinst script which returned errors: somthing about a directory/or file in root not existing
(.dont_run_appmgr or somthing like that, sorry for the shoddy note taking...)
Buttons: Looks great! :-) but...
The buttons get assigned ( I go through and give them all a program, except record, I dont have anything for it) , I save changes and exit. The buttons dont work. At all. So I reboot. note I
have not installed gpe-login yet, I find it a hassle to logg into my Ipaq... Here is where it gets cool, all the buttons have rotated their positions counter clockwise one spot. WHat was assigned
to calendar is now up on record, what was on contacts is now on calendar etc... Note: buttond.conf was not updated in either attempts to designate what each button does, is there a
buttond knockoff running elsewhere???
Appmgr Setup
is now located in two tabs in my install, one in configure, one in system tabs....
Theme
worked well so far. Just changed the flavour of the bars and buttons though....
Keyboard
taping that responds with a gpe-confi not found.(viewed on a terminal over ethernet logged in as root) ...but Installing gpe-conf has wiped out my little keyboard in the tray...so I cant configure
for what is now gone... :-)
I guess that will keep you busy for a little bit... :-)
Over all very nice though. I like this kind of interface...
