Hello everybody,
I am a Spanish Management Engineer student that is
working on a mathematical/scientific handheld project,
and would like using GPE as basic environment.
Now, we have only the basic idea, and are a small team
working on final structure concept. As soon as our
server come back, I will post where the idea doc is
stored. If you want I would send it yo you. Our work
will be part of some of us final university carreer
project.
Basically, we want to create a Scientific Digital
Assistant, using:
- Familiar as O.S.
- GPE/Matchbox as base environment
- Giac/XCAS as math app.
This idea will be shown to some HP Calculators
Managers next 21st September in London, during
Handheld and Portable Club Conference. More info here:
http://www.hpcc.org/conference.html
I think Pierre Tardy knows more what I am talking
about, because he is another HP Calculator fan like
me.
As soon as our server come back we will begin working
on the project website structure. I will like to know
if we could count with your help.
I will like beginning with spanish localization for
GPE software. Will GPE be a main package or just some
small packages?
We will use ipaq3100 for prototypes, some memory space
is important for us, because xcas is a huge app, but
we would like "porting" its interface to gpe, and
somethings that it adds, elimate it, i.e.:
- Program editor -> GPE-edit could be used.
- Keyboard -> XKBD special layout should work, I
think.
Perhaps libgiac could be integrated on GPE, so the
xcas spreadsheet could be a GPE-Spreadsheet.
I hope we could keep on contact.
More info about giac/xcas could be seen at:

Thanks,
=====
