And another problem: the GTK2 glade appeared to completely refuse to
load in a file from the GTK1 version when I tried. If this is a general
problem then the future job of porting to GTK2 will actually be *harder*
for applications using Glade.

(Note however that I have an underlying bias that says that GUIs should
be designed by looking at them - in practical terms, if you're writing
the code manually you're less likely to bother packing buttons in the
way that looks nicest, rather than just the one that's quickest....)
