Yes, I know about that. But this doesn't let you move an application
from one group to another, nor as far as I can tell does it let you
suppress items selectively from a .menu file that contains multiple
entries. And it's kind of an unfriendly format for users to write,
because they need to go figure out what menu file contains the thing
they don't want to see.

Ideally this sort of thing would all be done via the appmgr pop-up menu,
ie. you would have new "Hide", "Rename" and "Move to..." choices. There
would need to be a way to show all the hidden items so you could get
them back if you changed your mind.
