help with instillation

Is the file of GPE = "Familiar v0.6-pre1 bootgpe-v06-11.jffs2 " the file that once installed will have the needed files to boot to an os or kernal and then just install more packages???? if not is there such a file or can you tell me how to get gpe on my ipaq, with familiar 6.0-pre1....
