[iPAQ] X problems with v0.14 (I think)

From: Robert Watkins <robert_maria.a.t.yahoo.com>
Date: Sat Sep 09 2000 - 21:34:34 EDT

The new version seems to work with my unit with the exception of the
touchscreen. I'm able to boot, but that's about it.

The first sign of problems is:
     ...
     LINUX RC is executing
     LINUX RC is executing
     before mount
/linuxrc: 8: Syntax error: Bad substitution
     ...

Then there's
     ...
Fast boot, no file system check
Calculating module dependencies... depmod: Can't open
/lib/modules/2.4.0-test6-r
     mk5-np2-64mb/modules.dep
     done.
Loading modules: h3650_ts modprobe: Can't open dependencies file
/lib/modules/2.
4.0-test6-rmk5-np2-64mb/modules.dep (No such file or directory)
sa1100-uda1341 modprobe: Can't open dependencies file
/lib/modules/2.4.0-test6-r
mk5-np2-64mb/modules.dep (No such file or directory)
rm: cannot unlink `/fastboot': Read-only file system
     Mounting local file systems...
     ...

Later on
    ...
    Writing inode tables: done
Writing superblocks and filesystem accounting information: done
    /initrd/dev/ram1 on /initrd type ext2 (rw)
/initrd/dev/flash5 on /usr type cramfs (ro)
none on /initrd/dev/pts type devpts (rw,mode=0622EXT2-fs: unable to
read superbl
    ock
    )
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/flash6,
or too many mounted file systems
(aren't you trying to mount an extended partition,
instead of some logical partition inside?)
    hostname: can't open `/etc/hostname'
    ...

Which seems to lead to the other failures.
   ...

Any suggestions? Is there any other information that would be helpful?

Thanks,
Robert
