Hello all!
Everything is in place now.
GPE @ linuxtogo can be used and is working reliably.
So I would like to finally do it and declare the move. At the moment we
have double resources, i.e. gpe_at_hh.org is still online so we do not need
to get into any hurry and there will be no fixed deadline.
Everyone interested in further GPE development and discussions please
visit the new GPE homepage at
http://gpe.linuxtogo.org
In brief I would like to ask all of you listening to create new accounts
in the GForge of Linuxtogo and then join the project at
http://projects.linuxtogo.org/projects/gpe/
Other details are already either explained on the new homepage or will
be on the new mailinglist (like repository change, etc.).
At that point I would very much like to thank all handhelds.org people
for their support during the last five years!
Without their support and especially the initial port of Linux to a
world-wide commercially available device, the iPaq 3600, we would for
sure not have GPE and also a lot of other developments would probably
not exist.
So thanks to all of you!
I also want to stress the fact that it is not that we, i.e. GPE, will
leave this world. GPE will continue to be developed and projects
emerging from handhelds.org, like Familiar, will hopefully still use it.
It is just that we shift the place a little, nothing more. We hope that
the new hosting will be helpful for the GPE development with its new
services and features and that the community driven aspect of linuxtogo
will also be beneficial - Linuxtogo *is* a community project and we hope
that GPE and LTG will mutually benefit from each other. We also hope
that handhelds.org, GPE, LTG and all related projects continue their
collaboration in order to expand the mobile Linux universe as much as
possible.
So, let's keep going!
I hope to see you soon @ GPE.linuxtogo.org !
Cheers
nils
