Greetings,
I've been trying to reduce the size of xmame on the skiff cluster with
fairly unimpressive results but possibly the execution of the xmame is
faster. (ipaq at home so can't test right now)
It's in the "/home/guest/gbt/xmame-0.37b7.1" directory.
After looking at the "gcc" webpage a bit, it looks like the latest version
supports more strongarm-specific asm instructional coding that the version
on skiff currently supports. (at least there are -mcpu settings for
arm/strongarm variants). I wonder if there may be any
compression/performance (surely performance.?) gains from using this latest
gcc on skiff for xmame (et al.).
Just wanted to pass along my observations.
Regards,
Greg
